Microstation Tips and Tricks: Repeat Operations Tutorial
On a standard keyboard, the shift character above the backslash is called the vertical bar or pipe sign. In Microstation, it can be used to repeat a key-in operation a specified number of times. For example, if you wanted to produce a numbered sequence 10-60, with each number 10mm apart:
- Using place text, enter "10" and position on drawing.
- Select copy and increment text tool from the text palette.
- Select the text element "10"
- In the command window, key-in "dx=10|49" to place the next element 10mm to the right. The loop is repeated a further 49 times to complete the sequence in one go.
